In five years, Dubai's Oraseya Capital aims to invest in 100 start-ups, particularly those with connections to the UAE or Asia, according to AsianInvestor.

Backed by the Dubai Investment Economic Zones Authority, Oraseya Capital focuses on scalable solutions and aims to double the size of Dubai's economy in 10 years.

The fund covers various industries and investment stages, including pre-seed to series B, and fosters ties between the Middle East and Asia.

Strong ties between Malaysia and Dubai's efforts in the start-up sector, and an increase in investment activity and fund flows between Asia and the Middle East, have attracted attention from state-owned institutions and wealthy Asian families.
