SANDBOX, the only venture-backed startup investment program in Dubai, is revamped and accepting applications for its fourth cohort. Partnered with Oraseya Capital, SANDBOX is the first VC-backed startup investment program in Dubai, set to invest in tech firms boosting the UAE's economy with a new AED 500 million fund. The five-month program aims to accelerate startups from pre-seed to Series B stages, emphasizing an investment-focused approach.

Oraseya Capital's Director, Hassan AlFarsi, highlights the significant commitment to the UAE startup ecosystem. The program, now more investment-focused, offers a two-phase structure for 2024. Successful startups in Phase Two receive a $150,000 investment from Oraseya Capital, reinforcing founder-centricity and providing exposure to investors.

SANDBOX's Head of Programs, Elliott Denham, notes the program's emphasis on supporting resilient, ambitious, and coachable entrepreneurs. The acceptance rate is below 2%, reflecting a commitment to quality over quantity. The program seeks startups with innovative solutions impacting the UAE and MENA region, contributing to the evolving startup scene.

As the application deadline for the fourth cohort approaches (December 31, 2023), SANDBOX aims to nurture a thriving community of innovators, providing mentorship, workshops, and networking opportunities. The program's goal is to contribute substantially to job creation, economic diversification, and position the UAE as a global innovation hub.
